Don’t spread the Good news

By June 2, 2020Awareness

Over the past few months of our various stages of the lock-down adventure I’ve been blogging on my website offering healthy evidence-based alternatives to boost ones immune system during this uncertain Covid time. Last week I received an email to caution me against continuing this service offering health advice if it didn’t match the official government narrative…

It is our collective responsibility to ensure accurate and verifiable information based on actual evidence is communicated to patients, to allow them to make informed decisions.”

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely agree with this statement and just to be clear, all the information that I’ve ever written about has been based on actual research and not something I randomly sucked out of my thumb.

So, although I’ve been cautioned against giving Covid-based healthcare advice, I’m all clear it seems to give evidence-based advice for boosting your immune system for the upcoming flu season… I just can’t say Covid.

I’m a big fan of food as medicine and living a lifestyle that supports optimum mental and physical health so to advise on vaccines and other big pharma solutions is never going to be my approach. I’m also a fan of the Hippocratic Oath which states: I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice”. It also says something about, DO NO HARM, and in my mind if I withhold information that could help prevent disease then to me that’s doing harm… or am I smoking my socks?

So here goes…

Vitamin D deficiency is a serious problem all around the world, this is a real Pandemic. Vitamin D is instrumental in building a strong immune system. You want to be healthy through a flu season that might put you at risk for viral infection, take Vitamin D. Here’s some evidence based research that supports Vitamin D:

Selenium. We need Selenium and so do our viruses. If a virus infects a host with low Selenium it is likely to mutate. Mutations aren’t great, they can often create a more virile virus.

Iodine: A super powerful antiviral and antibacterial. 3-4 drops in a little bit of water to gargle in the morning or drink to clear out any virus hanging out in your mouth or throat. You can even get a bit more technical and nebulize with it to kill the viruses in your lungs (read my other blog on Nebulizing).

Hydrogen Peroxide: Another really powerful tool to add to your nebulizing protocol during flu season. Add a few drops of food-grade H2O2 to your Saline nebulizing mix to super-charge your nebulizing treatment.

Vitamin A: Yet another powerful tool in your anti-viral toolkit. Maybe I’ll save this one for a blog on its own.

Taking Vitamin C and multivitamins should be common sense by now along with Probiotics, but in case you didn’t get that memo, I’d suggest you get up to speed and start taking these… even if it’s just through a flu season like we’re heading in to. Drinking water with lemon is another no-brainer that will help, but you probably already knew that.

Yours in health.

      Dear Peter,
Many thanks for this sharing this knowledge and information with us. A serious Illness and other factors have compromised my immune system.
It’s been difficult to determine which vitamins, minerals, herbs, and other substances truly supplement or improve one’s immune response. So I’m very grateful that I can skip the Vitamin aisle along with the sales pitch for THE ‘Immune Boosting’ product for that year (which is normally the most ridiculously priced one on the shelf!) .

Thank you so much for the comment…yes, sticking to the basics typically out performs the latest and greatest new fad ‘formulas’…and yes, at half the price too 😀
